I love organising weddings, parties and events; it really is my dream job. I get a real buzz from every project I work on, and this passion means I’ll do everything I can to make sure your event is as amazing as you’d imagined.
You’ll have the benefit of my outstanding list of suppliers, built up over more than a decade. Whether you’re looking for a venue, caterer, photographer, florist or DJ, I’ll find the perfect one for you. You can get in touch with me at any time to discuss the progress of our plans for your event. It’s really important to me that both you and your suppliers are happy at every stage of the planning process. I combine my natural creativity with a practical and hands-on approach, giving you a clear idea of how your vision will work in reality. My keen eye for detail means that even the tiniest part of your event will be planned to perfection. |

My background and experience
I’ve always loved every detail of organising events. As a child, I would help my Mum prepare for the many dinner parties she hosted by writing all the name cards. As time went on, I took on the roles of table setter, decorator and waitress. This passion has continued throughout my life. I’ve worked in hotels, bars and restaurants, always putting myself forward as the ‘organiser’, planning staff parties, corporate events, family anniversaries, friends’ weddings and company AGMs. In my 20s, I went travelling for a year and, along the way, organised various events. It was both exciting and eye-opening to plan events in different countries and to see how different cultures celebrate big occasions such as birthdays and marriages. On my return, I worked in London running events such as parties, corporate celebrations and internal company award ceremonies. I launched Lucy Wright Events in 2003, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. Every day is exciting, challenging and creative, and I feel incredibly lucky and privileged to have a career using my passion for planning and design. But most of all, I love the smiles on my clients’ faces when their event exceeds their expectations. As one of my brides said: “Everyone needs a Lucy!”

I love planning weddings...
Every wedding I organise excites me as much as it did when I first started my business in 2003. I love the fact that no wedding is ever the same as another – each couple has different ideas, and each wedding has a different look and a different feel. I love the creativity of planning weddings. I’ve worked with a range of themes and styles including rustic, sophisticated, vintage, stylish and understated. But, whatever the style and budget, I always make sure that each wedding is as amazing and fabulous as my client had hoped. And that in itself gives me a buzz.
